Here are some of the key executives within the organisation and their background.

Tomás O’Leary

Managing Director

Tomás is one of the original founders of Origina and has been Managing Director since 2006. Tomás spent 3 years with IBM before setting up Origina (formerly Unitech Systems) in 1998. Having served 4 & ½ years as Sales & Marketing Director, he was made joint-Managing Director in Nov 2002 and then Managing Director in June 2006. An honours Business Studies graduate from Trinity College Dublin, Tomás has over 14 years experience in the IT industry and 17 years business experience.

Tomás has set up the structures to enable the various teams within the organisation to innovate & develop new offerings, find new markets and deliver on the company’s promises. He has provided the motivational tools and incentives to keep the company on its path to growth, empowered all staff to take leadership roles within the business and developed the management team to support the business through this growth.

Rowan O’Donoghue

Director of Innovation & Development

With over 17 years experience in the IT industry with organisations such as Digital, Dell, Intel, Microsoft, COMIT Gruppe and Perot Systems prior to joining Origina in 2000, Rowan has extensive knowledge of the technologies that make up complex data centres in businesses today.

A C/COBOL/PASCAL programming graduate, Rowan has architected, managed and implemented some of the most complex projects Origina have delivered over the last 9 years, Rowan is highly regarded by our customers as one of the most knowledgeable all-round IT Consultants in the business, and the best technical asset within the company. As technical project manager, Rowan has managed multi-million euro infrastructure rollouts, and has architected & delivered High Availability Solutions, complex Data Management and Storage environments for customers all over the globe.

Today Rowan’s primary responsibility as Director of Innovation & Development is for the strategic development of new product/service offerings for Origina. By working closely with our customers, appointed internal resources, technology partners, and other industry partners, Rowan brings solution & service innovation, thought leadership, and business development opportunities to the company. Rowan has been instrumental in bringing the strategic technical ideas forward that have changed and shaped the company over the past number of years. He is continually pushing the boundaries of what we can achieve for our customers and through leadership and teamwork bringing the company on the path of innovation.

Martin Davis

Director of Technical Services

Martin has over 15 years experience in the IT industry working in Ireland and the UK within the high end server and storage delivery field. While Martin has a broad range of expertise and experience across server, storage and data management, his particular area of specialisation has been on designing, planning and delivering high availability solutions and consolidation. He has worked with the vast majority of Irish and UK banking organisations on the Swift platform and would be known throughout Europe as one of the leading specialists in ensuring the levels of IT availability required for these critical banking systems.

Martin’s primary function is to lead the delivery services and managed services/support teams. He also runs the Project Management function and, indeed, is himself involved in some of the day to day project management and delivery for some of our most important customer projects. Martin’s vast array of technical experience spans IBM’s AIX, pSeries, HACMP, SAN technologies plus Oracle Database and HP-UX systems.

Martin uses his vast project experience of critical IT environments, his composure under pressure and his leadership skills to ensure the Origina services and solutions meet our customer’s expectations.
