Error description Running chvg -g vgname on a Scalable VG can overwrite
data in the first partition on each disk.
This will only happen on AIX 6.1 TL4.

Local fix Make sure the first partition on each disk is
not allocated to any LV prior to running chvg -g.

Problem summary ****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED:
* Systems running the 6100-04 Technology Level using scalable
* volume groups with the bos.rte.lvm fileset below the level
* of 6.1.4.2.

* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
* Running chvg -g on a Scalable VG can cause LVM metadata to be
* written over the first part of user data on each disk.
* This would only happen if user data (LVs) exist in the first
* partition of any disks in the VG.

* RECOMMENDATION:
* Install APAR IZ67529.
****************************************************************

Problem conclusion Correct the LVM metadata and chvg -g code so that LVM does not
write it's metadata into the user space on the disks.
